PROFESSIONAL horse shoer & trainer in Tucson

First thank you for visiting my website!

I am a horse trainer & a horse shoer. I arrived in Tucson in 2016 from Switzerland, where quality & precision are integral parts of my culture.

I originally come from dressage and competed for more than 20 years.

I learned how to look at a horse, understand his movements, his balance and develop an exercise program which is adapted first to the horse and obviously to the rider. I switched to Western riding about 10 years ago improving even further on my ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with horses.

Following the ELPO protocol, (Equine Lameness Prevention Organization), my passion is about keeping your horses healthy with a natural balance hoof care and/or increase your horse-communication and guidance skills.

Natural Balance Hoof Care

Every horses deserve to have a specific and a holistic approach. Then we can manage a plan involving not only your expectations but also the basics needs of your horse, depending on many factors as where he live, his regular activity, food, pasture etc. And last but not least a regular schedule (6 to 8 weeks) to maintain a good shape of the hoof capsule.

I am a current and active member of the EQUINE LAMENESS PREVENTION ORGANIZATION - Every year i take at least 10 days or more to improve my skills doing some new classes and seminar focus on the hoof capsule and sharing experiences with others professional horse people.

Take a look: WWW.LAMENESSPREVENTION.ORG

I usually work with the EQUINE DIGIT SUPPORT SYSTEM WWW.EDSSHOOFCARE.COM but also with various type of shoes depending on the pathology and the needs of your horse.

Coming from the dressage area, i am very conscious and focus on the movement but more specifically on the COMFORT of your horse. This is why i always work on an open mind in collaboration with you or the trainer and the vet to develop the best plan based on an objective assessment of facts and following the ELPO’s protocol about the hoof evaluation.

DRESSAGE

IMG_4990.jpeg

In 20 years of competition in Switzerland, I was trained by Annecke Van Roosebeek former trainer of the Swiss Dressage team, I was also inspired by some star riders through clinics, such as Isabel Werth, Dr. Reiner Klimke, Dr. Gerd Heuschmann and Catherine Henriquet. Later, I became more passionate about teaching the basic foundations of classical dressage.

To western riders I offer the logical exercises and consistency of the dressage training to build a strong and progressive pyramid of development based on your horse’s abilities and your own skills. In short, my job consists in matching your riding and personality with the temper and energy of your horse through better communication and structured exercises.

To dressage riders I offer a better understanding and awareness of your horse’s biomechanics through some structured and logical exercises, in a way that your horse will progressively understand what you are asking for.

Depending on your expectations, i will also be focus on your capacity to ride & think “out of the box”. Sometimes we have to reconsider the way we get used to ride or to approach a problem. Here I will help you to get a better and deeper understanding of your horse, to figure it out together as being a more intuitive and creative rider.

And last but not least, I work in a logical progression of exercises respectful of the physical and mental abilities of your horse : Rhythm => Looseness => Contact => Impulsion => Straightness => Collection

LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING YOU! 520.595.8663
